a picnic + watermelon quilt

It hit me last week that summer was coming to a end. One of the things I wanted to do this summer was go on a picnic. It must have been meant to be because just as I was thinking this, this pretty little thing came in the mail from Brooke. The quilt was practically screaming to be taken on a picnic. So, what did I do?

I grabbed the quilt, picked up some food and headed to the park for a picnic with my best friend.

Silly Goose was my go-to place for this last minute picnic.  (Nashvillians, have you been to the Goose? It’s one of my favorite local restaurants and a must-go kinda place.) The quilt was pleased with my food selection as well. It was especially glad I didn’t eat watermelon, as it didn’t want to be upstaged.

I just love how fun this quilt is. The solids balance the printed fabrics perfectly! Another awesome job by Brooke of Silly Mama Quilts. If you want to make one for yourself, Brooke made a free tutorial available here.
