Happy October! My Pumpkin Fun collection is now in stores and ready for all your October sewing projects. Today I’ve gathered three bag sewing tutorials for you.
My Pumpkin Fun collection is all about pumpkins, candy and costumes. We used this fabric collection, as well as my Remix fabric for the bags. There’s a fat quarter bundle that includes the Pumpkin Fun prints, Urban Zoologie cats and coordinating fabrics.
1. Goody Sack Pattern: This bag is huge! And that’s a good thing for candy collecting. This bag can easily be folded and stored when not in use, which is an additional bonus. We used coordinating fabrics for the inside.
2. Candy Corn Tote: Next up, we have this ridiculously cute candy corn tote by Positively Splendid. When I saw this tutorial, I knew it would be perfect for my candy corn fabric. Positively Splendid personalized her tote, which is really cute.
3. Mini Pumpkin Pouch. Finally, we have a smaller bag. These would be great for kids passing out treats in their classroom. Find the free tutorial here.

If I were a kid, these would be the contents of my purse. Coloring utensils, such as crayons, markers or coloring pencils, were a huge priority. A cute wallet to carry my coins. And of course, little games to play to keep me entertained. In all honesty, not much has changed. What’s in your purse? (Also, to make these little pouches, find the free tutorial here).

Several of my Ready, Set, Go designs are now on cuddle fabric! You can see the complete line over at Shannon Fabrics. They are so, so cuddly! We updated a few of the their colors. There’s a total of 6 designs, which I’ve listed below. I also have Princess Life, Urban Zoologie and Jingle available on cuddle.
This print is “Honk” in Royal. It’s one of my favs!
In classic shades of blue, navy and red, these designs are “Take Off” in Baby Blue and “Chugga, Chugga” in Scarlett.
A new twist of a boy color scheme is “Take Off” in Kiwi.
And last, but definitely not least, is “Honk” in a fun color way of Teal.

This quilt is so fun! It incorporates my Urban Zoologie, Remix and Kona solids. I did the placement of prints for this quilt. I really wanted to add a punch of yellow in there, but decided to stick with the red, blue and gray color scheme. You can find the free pattern links below. There’s also a version with pinks and aqua.

The London Dress by Shwin Designs is so sweet. Using my Remix grid print, the dress features a full skirt with a darling cut out back. The London Dress and Top Pattern gives you the option of having cap sleeves or sleeveless, as shown. You can also make it in various lengths. It’s a truly unique twist on a classic silhouette. Head here for the pattern.

Looking for a fun duffle back pattern for your next weekend getaway? Gingercakes has a great duffle bag pattern, available in both kid and adult sizes. The bag is roomy inside, with the option of adding a interior pocket. There’s also a pocket on the outside of the bag. We used my Remix wide fabric, along with my Remix grid for the interior. Gingercakes was able to make an additional tote bag out of the 1 yard of 108″ wide fabric. (See the other bag here.) Head here for the full pattern and here for a complete look of her awesome patterns.

If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, then you know that “pink” is my go to color. You’ve probably also noticed that yellow and aqua blue (or mint!) are a close second. I pair these three colors together all the time. Today’s free desktop wallpaper are handrawn dots. I hope they brighten up your computer space!

This little argyle outfit is so fun. Dakko Baby used my brightly colored argyle fabric. Wouldn’t it be great for a little one’s first birthday? There’s also one available in lime green and light blue. They also have cute bucket hats in my heart fabric and robot fabric.

A skirt was one of the first things I learned how to sew. We made a fun skirt using the One Seam Skirt Tutorial (with pockets by Sycamore Shorts Pattern) out of my Remix dot fabric. The top and pockets of the skirt were made using Kona solids. We also made a reversible vintage inspired crop top to match. I think they turned out adorable!

This bag is full of all kinds of happy! The pattern is the Day Off Bag pattern by Gingercakes. We used my new apples from my Back to School fabric collection, along with coordinating Kona solids. And we mixed things up a bit for the inside, using my Remix dots. The bag pattern includes sizes for adults and kids, as well as a “mashup” combo of the adult size and kid size. The boxy bottom is one of my favorite features of the bag. There’s plenty of room in the bag for you to carry plenty of items, as well as an interior and exterior pocket. Two thumbs up, Gingercakes. This is one awesome bag!

A full, gathered dress with a peter pan collar and pockets, topped with a thin sweet bow belt, is perfection. And the Caroline Party Dress pattern is just that. It’s a classic dress that you and your little one will adore. (The dress is also available in an adult size!) We used my new apple fabric from my Back To School fabric collection for the dress. Wouldn’t this be an awesome “first day of school” dress? Head over to Welcome to the Mouse House for the dress pattern, as well as a bunch of other fun sewing patterns.

I guess you could say that I’ve had cool sweet treats on my mind. A couple weeks ago, I shared this fun ice cream quilt. (There’s also a fun ice cream cone pillow patten, as pictured above, which can be found here). Today I’m sharing these fun popsicle and ice cream cone pillows. I can’t believe we’ve already experienced triple digit weather this summer! Staying cool has been a top priority and ice cream always helps. You can find the free tutorial at the bottom of this post. Have a easy-breezy summer!
There’s a couple of different of options for the ice cream pillows. We created a tutorial for a two scoop ice cream cone tutorial, as well as a one scoop tutorial.

Summer is here. And boy-oh-boy, it’s hot! Needless to say, I’ve been wearing lots of sleeveless tops and shorts these days. We mixed and matched two of my favorite Remix fabric prints for a fun summer outfit. To create our playful attire, we used the Sunny Top & Dress pattern by SewVery and the Sycamore Shorts Pattern by Sew Like My Mom. (The fabrics used in these projects are listed below). Happy Summer!
One of the sweetest things about the Sunny Top is the back. The straps and bow are precious.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for THIS ice cream quilt! This is one fun quilt! Once I saw Sylvia Sutters of A Stranger View’s Mod Ice Cream Quilt pattern, I was giddy. It’s the perfect summer quilt . . . reminiscent of childhood trips to the ice cream shop, tasting all the flavors before settling on a new favorite. Using my Remix prints and yummy Kona solids, this quilt is all about playfulness and color. To make one, head here for the pattern. There’s also a pattern for the pillow which you can find here.
We went with simple quilting, which I love.
Scrappy colorful binding is always a win!
