DIY from karen’s corner . . .

August 02, 2011

Kelle has tons of old plastic bracelets from her days of growing up in the 80s. We thought it would be fun to turn these old plastic bracelets into playful, one of a kind jewelry. Here’s an easy DIY that is perfect to do while you watch a movie — Karen

Thread Bracelet
Materials:
– Plastic Bangle Bracelet
– Thread
– Double-sided tape
– Permanent Marker
– Scissors

Directions:
1. Choose your color scheme
2. After you have determined your color and width pattern, with a permanent marker – mark off the beginning and ending section for each color with a small dot. (You can write the beginning initial of the color in each section if you would like.)
3. Place a small piece of double-sided tape inside of the bracelet as you begin and end each section of your pattern. You can also use a small dot of super glue to secure the thread on the inside.
4. Wind the thread around the bracelet (one layer) be careful not to “bunch up” the thread. Continue until pattern is complete and bracelet is completely covered.
