One of my favorite projects, is the Hipster Pocket Scarf. My friend and co-auther of the book, Lindsay, made one for me in my Heart knit fabric. For a couple of years, I ran long distance. (Hello, fellow half marathoners!)  Running in the 40 degree weather was my ideal weather. I would be close to freezing when I started out, but by mile 4 or so I’d start shedding excess layers. This pocket scarf would have been perfect to hold my keys and other essentials. Although I’m not running any more, it’ll be perfect for those day when I don’t want to carry a purse or jam things in my pocket.  The book includes projects for beginners to more advanced sewers. There’s also all sorts of truly unique projects to help us stay organized! Enjoy the preview below and be sure to enter the giveaway below!

Lindsay and Janelle are offering one copy of the book to one of my blog readers. The giveaway will end 12/15.  U.S. winner will receive a hard copy, and winner outside the U.S. will receive an e-Book.

I like medium size bags with a cross-body strap so I can wear it while wrangling my two young kids. I also like a zip top because my bags often find themselves tipped upside down or dropped down quickly, durable fabrics as my younger goes to preschool in the woods so my bags have to be able to stand up to being set down in the dirt, and I like lots of pockets for organization. I do really like the snap and go sewing case in the book.

  62. Fun blog. Nice to learn about the scarf hipster. My go-to style are cross-body bags with lots of pockets. Hands free and keep everything organized!

  63. Barbara says:

Newest fav: a divided basket to hold my fabric stash, but which will do so much more soon! I know the book is something I’d love to have as I prepare for our planned move into a tiny house on wheels which will always be “on the go”! The projects are tailor made for me! The organizer will be just the ticket for our home’s loft storage and for our vehicle as we travel and stay in our state and national parks. A smart backpack will be necessary as we hike the trails, too, and there is frequent shopping for groceries for a tiny tiny house, so totes are a necessity! And who among us doesn’t love a new purse! My collection of practical bags will be an important part of our journey, as will my beloved sewing machine!

    • kelle says:

Great choice, Barbara! Wow! You’re planning on living in a tiny house? I’ve watched the Tiny House TV show and find it so very fascinating. Visiting the national and state parks sounds like a great adventure! Have the best time!
