sewing project #1: pillows

July 14, 2010

In learning how to sew, my first project was a pillow. I was a little nervous sitting behind the sewing machine for the very first time. There were so many features. Even threading the machine was foreign to me (still is). After cutting the fabric and trying to familiarize myself with the machine, I was ready to sew. Sewing the pillow was pretty easy. So, I made another one and then another and then another. I now have tons of pillows. On some of the pillows, I mixed and matched the fronts and backs. On others, there are buttons. I had fun making them. Now I just have to figure out what to do with all of them.

I’d love to help you learn how to sew! Your two new lines are on order to arrive at my fabric shop, and I ADORE them. I’ve got a new book coming out next month that’s designed to help folks learn to sew one project at a time, just the way you’re already doing! I’d love to send you a copy and see what you do with it–drop me an email and we can talk.

Love, love, love the fabric AND your pillows!
