My snowmen wanted to wish you a happy Monday! It snowed last Friday evening. It was so pretty watching the big chunks of snow fall against the dark sky. Of course, by the next morning it had melted, along with my hopes of building a snowman. Oh, well, maybe next time. I heard there’s a huge “historic” snow storm headed towards the states in the Northeast. I hope everyone stays safe, warm and happy.

Another new collection I have coming out in 2015 is more Jingle prints. I had a TON of fun drawing these characters. (See Jingle 1 and Jingle 2). Polar bears, reindeers, doves, christmas bulbs and even my scotties (from my Urban Zoologie line) make an appearance in this collection. This collection ships to stores June 2015. Enjoy the pictures!
An added bonus, a couple of these prints will will also be available on flannel! These prints will also ship to stores in June 2015.

Black and white is a classic color combo. My sister commented that I’ve been wearing A LOT of black these days. I’m not sure why, but it is a color that I’ve been gravitating towards these days. It’s classic and chic. Are there any colors you are currently crushing on?

I made these holiday paper links a couple of weeks ago. They’re a super easy DIY project and perfect for kids. I remember making these when I was a child to count down to Christmas day. You can hang them on your tree, mantle or even drape them on a headboard. I added solid and glittered scrapbook paper to the papers I designed. You can find the patterned paper here. Enjoy!

I’ve been a fan of mint green for a LONG time! You’ll find mint green all over my house. Besides pink, it’s one of my go to colors. With the holidays here, mint green and gold is a fun and festive alternative to the traditional red and green you see during Christmas. Tis the season fellow mint lovers!

Here’s a fun little game to help you build your concentration skills. When we played this as kids they called it “The Memory Game” or “Matching Game.” We often played it with cards. This is our take on that same fun little game but we’re using fabric. We took some of our favorite remix pieces and cut them into little hexagon shapes. Download the tutorial here. (By the way, after playing the game, we realized that there is a little room to cheat, because you can see some of the colors on the side. So, you may want to make several of the same color pieces.) Anyway, it still made for a fun time!

The holidays are fast upon us, which means time with family and friends. What better way to pass time, catch up on how everyone has been doing, and make new memories than over a game of checkers. So, here is a fun tutorial that promises to help create opportunities to bond with family and friends. Whether you’re bonding by making this super cute checkerboard, or you’re bonding by playing on this super cute checker board, it promises to be loads of fun!
One of my favorite things about this tutorial are the heart checker pieces. They’re so so cute! Oh, and there are no losers when you’re playing on a board this cute!
If you have little ones around that can’t sew, you may wanna get them involved by allowing them to pick out fabrics and/or cutting out the heart felt checker pieces. Download this tutorial here.

Did you know you can add 7 years to your life just with a smile? My best friend was reading this article about smiling and it had some pretty interesting stuff. They looked at baseball cards and found that players that smiled the biggest in their pictures lived 3 years longer than the players that slightly smiled and 7 years longer than the players that didn’t smile at all.
And guess what else? They found that people that smiled even when they weren’t happy actually felt better when they smiled anyway. Turns out that smiling releases a hormone that makes you feel better. Here at Ann Kelle our motto is “to see you smile.” But, not only do we wanna “see you smile”, we wanna see you live longer, better and happier! So smile big and have a nice day! And in case you forget what you’re suppose to be doing today, we’re offering this free download for you and for you to share with a friend.

Making pom poms is one of my favorite crafts. They’re easy to make and are so cute. I found this easy pom-pom napkin ring tutorial by Art Bar a while ago. (It was put on my “craft to do” list). I incorporated it into my recent Thanksgiving placemat tutorial post. (We also sewed up our own napkins out of some Kona solids). The tutorial was super easy and fun! Find the tutorial here.

These days I seem to have a little crush on the color purple. I’ve always been a fan of lilac, but not so much for purple. However, all of that has changed! I find myself liking purple more and more…and its even showing up in some of my artwork. What about you? Are you a fan of purple?

Happy November! I’m so excited that Fall is finally here! I have been wanting to make placemats for a couple of years out of my fabric. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I thought this would be the perfect time. I decided to use my Remix prints in the placemats. And of course, they look really yummy with Kona solids. A special thanks to Brooke for working with me on the placemats. We worked on six different placemat designs.
I realize that this Thanksgiving tablescape idea is a bit different from the typical warm colors you find this time of year. But, I love my pinks, yellows and blue, even in the Fall.
There’s a total of 6 FREE placemat tutorials, which you can find below.
The “Flying Geese” and “Pixelated Heart” placemats are smaller versions of the free Robert Kaufman quilt tutorials, which you can find here and here.
We kept the quilting pretty simple on all the placemats.
The placemats are also reversible! I used solids on the backs of most of them. I just love the quilting on these!
These placemats came out so bright and happy! I actually kept the table set up like this for a couple days. (I’m thinking of hanging them up on the wall, when I’m not using them).
Grab all the free tutorials below!

I like anything with a peter pan collar. Whether it’s a dress or shirt, it’s gonna get get a thumbs up from me. But, this shirt gets two thumbs up. Maybe its the pink color or the sweet peek-whole back. Whatever it is, it’s adorable! We used the Blank Slate Pattern Tee Times 3. You can also make the shirt with short sleeves. We used my new houndstooth knit to make the shirt. Three cheers for peter pan collars! Find the pattern here.

Liberty Worth made this fabric book featuring my Girl Friends prints, as well as some of my other fabric collections such as Wonder, Urban Zoologie and Remix. It’s such a sweet book and a great way of incorporating all the different Girl Friends prints. Read more about how Libery made the book here.

This sweet dress was made using my new cord fabric. We used Made By Rae’s Geranium Dress Pattern. It’s such an adorable and versatile dress. It’s one of those dresses that you can play in, twirl or curtsy, if you’d like. Add a cardigan or long sleeve top and you’re all ready for cooler weather!

Here’s a couple of new Halloween invitations I designed for Tiny Prints. You can see all of them here. My inspiration for these invites was my endless admiration for sweets. I also had been watching a certain movie on repeat, which showed up in my work. I also designed a couple of kids classroom cards, which you can see here. You’ll find plenty of non-gushy options for the kids!

Leggings are the one of the most comfortable things to wear. We took some of my newest knit fabrics and made a couple of pairs. One of the great things about leggings, besides them being super comfortable, is they are so versatile! You can wear them under a skirt, under an oversized sweater or even under a dress! We used Figgy’s Sunki Legging pattern to make these. I think they turned out pretty great! (Oh, and the cute little flower dress is Ramona Rose’s PE Play Dress!)
