I’m REALLY into the colors black and white these days. So, I was totally excited when I found Augie and Lola. They have a TON of handmade goods for babies. They also have other colorful items, such as my heart print, chevrons and mermaids. Cuteness overload!
Happy New Year! I hope this year is full of nothing but the best for you in 2014. Lots of love, laughter, peace and lots and lots of sparkle. See more of my New Years cards here.

Hi Friends! As we approach the holidays, I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for each of you. I never would have dreamed that my full-time job would be drawing! Thank you for visiting this space. I’m so appreciative to your support! The blog will be silent until after the new year. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year! Big hugs, Kelle
The other day while at Target, a woman stopped me to ask for my opinion on a gift she was purchasing for her 16 year old daughter. I gave her my little opinion. Then, another stressed woman came up and I helped her pick out several outfits for her young adult daughter. I was there awhile. Helping these women shop for their daughters. And no, I don’t have a part-time job at Target. Well, if these women sewed, this clutch would be something I would tell them to make for their daughters. It is so, so pretty. The fabric used in this clutch is my metallic chevron, which comes in lots of yummy colors. It would be perfect for a holiday party. My friends over at Robert Kaufman have a FREE tutorial which you can find here. Happy sewing and try not to stress over the holidays!
I saw this fun Jelly Roll Jam Christmas Quilt by The Stitching Scientist on Instagram. (Tag me on your projects #annkelle so I can see your creation!) There’s so much color and joy going on in this quilt. Remona used the free quilt pattern from The Fat Quarter Shop and the Jingle Jelly Roll to make the quilt. I featured my new Jingle prints last February, so it’s great to see them in this year’s holiday projects. I’m hosting a giveaway of my original Jingle prints over on Remona’s blog. Head there to enter!
Each year I’ve added something new to my Christmas decor. My Christmas tree had plenty of ornaments, but I felt it was missing something. Like a present without a bow on top or something. So, this year I worked with Andrea of Knitty Bitties in creating a Christmas tree skirt. I knew I wanted something bright and cheery. I designed the skirt and Andrea made it a reality. Isn’t it happy? I used a bunch of my Remix chevron and dot prints, as well as lots of Kona solids. Picking out the colors was one of my favorite parts in designing this quilt. Andrea also made it reversible, which was icing on the cake. To make your own happy Christmas tree skirt, head here for a free tutorial. And a huge thank you to Andrea!
I have a cute video to share with you from Kimberly Jolly. At Quilt Market this Fall, she went around and found some of her favorite finds. She featured my telephone print and also shared a funny story.
Also, remember this beauty I shared with you from Quilt Market? Well, the free tutorial is up on Robert Kaufman’s blog. Find it here.
My Remix ovals are featured in the Winter issue of Better Homes and Gardens Quilts and More magazine. They had a challenge for three designers (Carrie Nelson , Patty Young, and Shea Henderson) to use the oval prints plus a solid gray in a project that is cute and functional. I think they did an awesome job! You can find the instructions for these projects in the magazines, which are out now. (I found mine at Publix, I think). However, you can get instructions for Patty’s backpack here. You can also order a kit of the fabric used in this project through the Fat Quarter Shop.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Today, I’m happy to share with you this cute camera quilt. My friend Kelly came up with this quilt idea to mimic one of the cameras in my “This and That” fabric collection. I think she did an awesome job. Last week, I was a bit under the weather. I wrapped this quilt on my legs while I worked on the couch. It’s nice to make memories with my new quilts. And a happy quilt always makes me feel a little better.
Read below for the full tutorial by Kelly. (more…)
Before we take some time for Thanksgiving, I wanted to share my new holiday cards for Tiny Prints. For this collection, I incorporated different textures such as glitter, metallic and textured paper. One of the new options for Tiny Prints’ holiday cards, is the various trim options (not shown in the photos). And look how fun the backs of the cards are! To view my entire collection, head here. I also designed holiday party invitations, holiday gift tags, thank you cards, and address labels. Happy Thanksgiving friends! Receive $30 off any $100+ order (has to be an Ann Kelle design). The offer will expired 12/31/12. Code: ANNKELLE13
I’m so happy to share with you my new Remix metallic fabric. For my stationery designs, I’ve been incorporating lots of metallics and glitter, so I was excited we were able to add this texture to fabric. Robert Kaufman has also added metallic to their Spot On collection. I’m a huge fan of shiny + glittery textures, and can’t wait to use this fabric in upcoming holiday projects. This was also the fabric that was used on my settee at Quilt Market. It looked so cute! This fabric is already in stores.
I’m so happy to share with you the rest of my new Remix flannel prints, which includes dots and chevrons. We also have the Remix flannel argyle, which I shared with you a couple months ago. They’re so colorful and cheerful. My Mom said it’s supposed to be a really cold winter, so this cozy flannel fabric couldn’t have come at a better time. Many stores are already stocking them, such as The Quilt Patch, Fabric.com and several etsy stores. Enjoy the pictures!
I’m so excited for Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks! If you are looking for cute Thanksgiving (or everyday) place mats for your children, these owl place mats should surely make your child eat all their veggies. The wings serve as a pocket to hold the fork, spoon or extra treat. Make your own place mat with this pattern by Susie C Shore Designs. Be sure to check out her online shop, which is full of lots of cute patterns!
Lookie, one of the Generation Q Junior Editors selected my ballerina fabric (and Remix dots) to make a pillow case. I’m so touched! They did a great job sewing their pillow cases.
Several weeks ago I threw a super hero inspired party in celebration of my Super Kids fabric line. It was a blast. Seriously. I had so.much.fun. We met in the country on a 10 acres field complete with a barn (and animals), right outside of Nashville. It was a great day. This inspired party is full of tons of FREE tutorials (listed at the very end of the post), just for you my friends. Giveaway details are also at the end of the post.
You may remember the super hero cape tutorial by Anna. My friend, Brooke, adapted the tutorial to include four variations.
These super hero masks are so fun! They were inspired by the masks the Super Kids are wearing. I worked with Janice in designing the masks. She wrote a detailed FREE tutorial, which you can find here. There are five different mask for you to choose from. At the party, I let the children choose which mask they wanted to wear.
We made cupcake toppers from my Super Kids fabric. These little guys were a hit at the party! After playing, I told the kids “Let’s eat cupcakes!” They ran clear across the field. By the time I had made it to them, they were all standing around the table and pointing to the cupcake they had selected. They loved them and were able to take them home as a little gift.
I designed free printable labels that you can use on your cups or even as cupcake toppers. There are two different versions (hearts or stars).
A party just isn’t complete without garland. You can make this easy-peasy garland using your fabric scraps.
And the icing on the cupcake, I’m hosting a giveaway. I am giving away a yard of each of my Super Kids fabric prints. In addition, my friends over at Tiny Prints are offering a $50 gift certificate. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, November 13th at midnight (central/standard time). There are several ways to enter:
A big hug and thank you to Janice and Brooke for sewing the masks and capes. They were perfect! And a special thank you to the all the Moms (Kelly, RaeAnna, Veronica and Ashely) and their adorable children. The day wouldn’t have been the same without you and I’m so very thankful you were there!
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who entered. The giveaway is now closed.
Quilt Market was so great! The Robert Kaufman team did a superb job. Someone said my booth was like stepping inside my blog. And it really was. The white and chalkboard walls were the perfect backdrop to all the color that filled the space. My logo was even in pink! There was a settee made out of my new chevron metallic. It was so pretty, I didn’t want to sit on it. Many of the projects that were featured in the booth are free tutorials I’ve shared on my blog. But, there were many other new projects included and I’ve included a list at the end of this blog post. Some, such as the Remixed Geese quilt, will be coming soon. I’m so appreciative to everyone who helped with my booth from setup to sewing samples to tearing down the booth at the end. And it was such a treat hugging and talking with those in the quilt community. Enjoy the pictures!
This quilt was featured on the wall outside my booth. I first saw the Remixed Geese quilt by Kitchen Table Quilting. So, I was excited that we included this quilt in the booth. It was so, so awesome how Elisabeth combined my Remix prints with Kona solids. The quilting, by Angela Walters, was quite exceptional. I stood there and in awe for quite some time.
This metallic chevron settee is one-of-a-kind! It was so dreamy. And even though I have a pixelated heart quilt made by Kelly, I wanted to take this one home with me.
The little tipi was so cute in the booth. And there was faux fire inside . . . you guys, it even crackled!
I put together the art collage walls for the booth. My studio has a growing collection of art + inspiration, so it was fun re-creating this for the booth.
This snapshot quilt was SUPER adorable. Many people asked if it was a panel, but it’s an actual quilt.
I totally need a pair of footsies this year. Everyone needs a pair of footsies.
Here’s a close-up of the pixelated heart quilt. I tried to take a picture so you could see the detail of the quilting by Angela Walters.
A special thanks to everyone who helped! Here are links to the tutorials:

I adore this fabric bundle. It’s such a great mix of my Remix chevrons and stripes in various color ways. You can find this awesome fat quarter bundle by Fresh Modern Fabric here.
A few weeks ago I had an inspirational party for my Super Kids line. It was so MUCH fun! (More on that later). One of the things I made for the party, was this SUPER easy garland. I used random fabrics from my Remix line, as well as Kona solids. It turned out so cheery that I just had to share it with you. This garland would be a great addition to your birthday party, baby shower or wedding. There’s tons of tutorials out there, but below is how I made mine.
My fabric strips were 1 (1/2) inches wide and 46 inches long. I started with a little over 1 (1/4) yards of fabric.
1. To make the strips, at the top (raw edge) of the fabric, use scissors to cut 1/4 inch slits every 1 (1/2) inches.
2. Tear where each slit
3. Take two pieces of fabric and tie them on your twine, rope, etc.
4. Repeat until you have the desired size of your garland
Told ya it was easy!
About a month ago I pulled out my old the soundtrack of Little Mermaid. (Everyone has the Little Mermaid soundtrack, right?). I’m not sure what made me pull it out. But, I hadn’t heard (and sang to) the songs in FOREVER. It was on blast for about a week in the Ann Kelle office. Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago I heard they were re-releasing Little Mermaid. I was so excited! The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney princess (hence me having soundtrack). So, in tribute to Ariel, I gathered some cute handmade goods with my mermaid prints. Are any of you Little Mermaid fans?
You see this quilt. Kelly made it. I’ve had it for awhile and I’ve been meaning to share it with you. My little ballerina girls were being camera shy. It has been nestled comfortably on my bed for the entire summer. The first morning I woke up after placing it on my bed, I saw all these little eyes looking at me saying “Good Morning, Kelle”. When I showed the quilt to my Mom, she said having this quilt on my bed was like I had a slumber party every night with my closest friends. I just love my girls. Kelly came up with the design of the quilt. We used the Ballerinas (“sweet” color way) as the primary fabric, mixed with coordinating Kona solids. Now that it’s Fall, I switched my bedding. But, this quilt isn’t far away. It’s bright, colorful and I hope to have it forever.
Remember these cute overall shorts? Well, Overall Baby recently released their new Fall 2013 line. I couldn’t be more honored that my corduroy fabric is included in their adorable line. Corduroy overalls are the perfect fall outfit. See more here.
